aw man, i actually kind of liked tobias. what’d he have to go do the thing for; i was hoping he’d stick around for a few more episodes. :( (that fight scene was so fucking dumb)
i actually generally just liked episode 8, what with the horrific yet creatively brutal murder that did not involve multiple erotic shots of a dead woman’s mutilated body, followed by fucking will’s graphic, almost sexual, fantasy ~re-creation~ of her torture and death - scenes that are likely to be referenced via multiple flashbacks over the course of the next 40 minutes.
if the whole show were more like ep 8 i would actually enjoy it, instead of being angry about it 90% of the time.
tbh hannibal is p misogynistic, 0/10, would not recommend, even if freddie lounds is 100% perfect, cannibal puns, and gore (but most of it is men torturing and mutilating women and that is not fun. that is disgusting.). it has a few good moments, but not enough to be worth it, and i don’t have a lot of hope that it will get better with time. so about what you’d expect from a show romanticizing white male serial killers and their basic ass white manchild herovictims.
still, i’d hoped it would be a little better than this. :( it’s the kind of thing i’d probably still watch when i’m dead bored bc i hate myself, tho, ngl. :[

OH MAN FREDDIE WAS A GUY IN THE BOOK? i read red dragon, once, years ago, and literally the only thing i remember is ‘yup, i read that.’ could not tell you a damn thing about the plot, characters, if hannibal was even it! that’s how little of an impression that book left on me. so boring.
10/10 casting decision there. should’ve mixed it up with will, too. i’m positive he would suck at least 65% less if he wasn’t himself. and hannibal as well, t b h.
